The two laptops use the same 3K display that will share the same resolution, brightness, and color accuracy. While at a glance, the two devices might appear to be very similar, but the updates come from new processor and graphics card options.

The 10th generation intel processors have been updated to 11th gen, with options for i7 and i5 configurations. While the 2020 model has Intel UHD and GeForce graphics options, the 2021 model ditches these for the new Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics. You’ll also notice that the 8GB RAM configuration is not present in the 2021 MateBook X.

Similar in many aspects, the 2021 model only has minor upgrades from the previous edition. For current MateBook X Pro users, the newest model might not be worth an upgrade. However, people new to the MateBook X Pro will find that the 2021 edition has more processing power and is worth getting over the 2020 model.
