The FreeBuds 4i comes in black, red, and white.

Huawei might be predominantly known for manufacturing Android smartphones and other mobile devices, but over the past few years, it’s launched a plethora of feature-packed and cost-effective wireless headphones.

Looking to dominate the wireless headphones market in 2021, Huawei recently announced a new model called the FreeBuds 4i. Succeeding the FreeBuds 3i, it first launched in China last month.

However, after a limited release, the FreeBuds 4i is now available to purchase in the UK and many other countries across the world. Costing just £79.99, it’s one of the cheapest Bluetooth headphones on the market today.

The FreeBuds 4i offers a wide variety of features, including active noise canceling, a long battery life, excellent sound quality, a stunning design, and lots more. But is it worth your money? Read on to find out.

A stunning design

One of the first things you’ll notice about the FreeBuds 4i is its sleek and modern design. Available in Ceramic White, Carbon Black, and Red, the earbuds are curvy, lightweight, and smooth to touch.

What’s more, because the earbuds offer an ergonomic design, they should fit comfortably into your ear. Huawei even claims that the headphones “radically reduce the pressure you feel even after long hours of listening”, adding that users can “wear them all day in total comfort”.

Like many other wireless headphones available today, the FreeBuds 4i comes with a charging case that’ll provide extra battery life when the headphones run out of charge. This case will match the color of your headphones and is also lightweight to carry.

Advanced noise-canceling

Noise-canceling is an important feature on any pair of wireless headphones, and luckily, the FreeBuds 4i doesn’t disappoint in this area. Its high-tech sensors are capable of identifying and reducing ambient noise, meaning you can listen to your favorite music without being distracted by annoying background sounds.

But the noise-canceling capabilities on the FreeBuds 4i don’t end there. Equipped with a dual-mic system that has a slit-duct design, it can mitigate disturbing background noises during a windy day. In addition to this, the FreeBuds 4i utilizes beam-forming technology and artificial intelligence-powered noise reduction technology for identifying your voice when you’re in a noisy environment.

So, whether you’re on a busy train or walking through a noisy city, you can make crystal clear phone calls using the FreeBuds 4i. The FreeBuds 4i also offers an Awareness Mode, which can be activated by pressing the earbud and will allow you to listen to ambient sounds while wearing the headphones.

Excellent sound quality

Along with providing lots of great noise-canceling features, the FreeBuds 4i also packs some innovative audio technology under the hood. This includes a 10mm dynamic coil driver and a sensitive polymer composite diaphragm. As a result, the FreeBuds 4i will deliver loud and clear sound every time you listen to music or speak to someone on the phone.

Battery life

When it comes to choosing a pair of wireless headphones, another essential area to take into account is battery life. The FreeBuds 4i offers a 55mAh battery in each earbud, while the charging case has a much larger 215mAh battery.

In terms of battery life, the FreeBuds 4i can provide 10 hours of continuous music playback, 22 hours of continuous music playback when you use the charging case, and 4 hours of playback following a 10-minute charge.

Where to buy

If you like the look of the FreeBuds 4i, you’re probably wondering where you can purchase it and how much it’ll cost.

In the UK, the FreeBuds 4i retails at £79.99 on Huawei’s official website. With your purchase, you’ll also get a free Huawei Band 4. Should you live in a different part of the world, we’d recommend checking out our guide on where you can buy the FreeBuds 4i globally.
